Abstract

Objective: To study the value of rest 99mTc-MIBI gated myocardial perfusion imaging(G-MPI) in evaluating the curative effects of adenovirus-mediated human hepatocyte growth factor(Ad5-HGF) transference in the swine model of myocardial infarction. Methods: Twenty-five swine were randomly divided into 5 groups: control group, model group and Ad5-HGF-treated group(low, medium and high dose). G-MPI and coronary angiography(CAG) were performed before and after treatment, respectively. Histological examination was also performed at the end of the study. Results: ①The myocardial perfusion and Rentrop scores of the model group and all treated groups were significantly lower than that of the control group before treatment(P<0.01). The score difference before and after treatment between the low dose group and the model group was not statistically significant(P>0.05), whereas the score difference between the medium and high dose group was significantly higher than the model group(P<0.01). ②Left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) measured by G-MPI of the model group and all treated groups were significantly lower than that of the control group before treatment(P<0.01). The LVEF difference before and after treatment between the low dose group and the model group was not significant(P>0.05), whereas the LVEF difference of the medium and high dose group was significantly higher than the model group(P<0.01). ③In the medium and high dose group, the number of vessels were significantly more than that of the model group(P<0.01). Conclusion: G-MPI is an excellent tool to evaluate the curative effects of Ad5-HGF transference in the swine model of myocardial infarction.
